We are seeking a motivated and experienced Chef Manager to lead the culinary and food service operations at our Gazebo location, a fast-casual restaurant and convenience store serving 700-800 people daily (Monday-Thursday) and 300-500 on weekends (Friday-Sunday). In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary aspects, ensuring high standards of food quality, service, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day culinary operations, including inventory, ordering, and receiving
Develop and execute menus with an emphasis on local sourcing, sustainability, and food trends
Oversee food cost control, purchasing, and inventory management
Ensure high-quality food production, sanitation, and presentation
Provide leadership and a service-oriented atmosphere, cooking in front of guests when needed
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of culinary management experience in contract foodservice, fine dining, or fast-casual environments
Extensive knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, sanitation, and food cost controls
Expertise in exposition cooking and working in a fast-paced, guest-focused setting
Experience in vegan and vegetarian cuisine, as Andrews University is entirely vegetarian
Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience preferred
ServSafe certification is a plus
