At Peachey Logging, we specialize in professional timber harvesting, focusing on safety, stewardship, and integrity. As a faith-based team of hard workers, we operate with purpose and deep respect for the land and each other.

 

What You'll Do as a Logging Equipment Operator & Driver:

  • Drive crew members to & from the job site each day.
  • Operate the skidder to drag felled trees to the landing area using grapples for secure transport.
  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance to keep the skidder in safe working order.
  • Follow the crew manager's directions and coordinate with team members using hand signals or radios.
  • Stay alert to terrain and crew positioning to ensure safe, efficient movement of logs and equipment.
  • Maintain a productive, safety-focused work environment with your team.
  • Travel to changing job sites, with the farthest location about two hours away.
  • Work full-time, Monday-Friday, typically from 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM (including paid travel time).

 

Our Ideal Logging Equipment Operator & Driver:

  • Experienced: At least 2 years of logging experience operating equipment like skidders and chainsaws is preferred. We're willing to train the right candidate with strong potential and a good work ethic.
  • Safety Conscious: Maintains awareness of surroundings, follows safety protocols, and looks out for the crew.
  • Detail-oriented: Pays close attention when operating equipment, inspecting gear, and coordinating movements.
  • Adaptable: Works efficiently in changing environments and responds well to direction and feedback.
  • Dependable: Shows up on time, takes responsibility, and follows through on tasks.
  • Respectful: Treats team members and supervisors with courtesy, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Active: Able to work long days in rugged outdoor conditions, with early start times and physical tasks.
  • Driver's License: Holds a valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the past 5 years.
  • Must supply personal safety gear and a chainsaw.
