Looking for a Change....Our Salon is looking for an innovative Salon Manager with salon experience to join our growing team of professionals with multiple locations. We are a salon with over 20 years of experience and brand new salon and Medi Spa location looking to fill many positions.

We are looking for a career focused salon manager that will help build our brand. A salon manager keeps the salon running smoothly and fosters an environment where employees enjoy working and clients receive top-notch service.

Salon manager skills and qualifications:

• Two to three years of previous work experience as a cosmetologist, hairdresser or manicurist.
• Must hold active New Jersey cosmetology licenses.
• Organizational skills to track inventory, create schedules and handle other clerical tasks.
• Expertise in cutting, coloring, texturizing and styling hair and performing manicures and other services.
• Effective oral communication skills to interact with staff and clients.
• Interviewing skills to recruit quality candidates for open positions.
• Ability to use spreadsheets, customer management software and word processing programs.
• Basic knowledge of accounting to track purchasing expenses and work within a budget.
• Strong interpersonal skills to handle client complaints and motivate and coach staff.
• Adequate written communication skills to develop policies, craft social media posts and perform other writing tasks.
• Working knowledge of state and local health and safety standards governing salons
• Must have a NJ Cosmetology license.

Salon manager duties and responsibilities:

• Recruiting, hiring, training and coaching salon staff.
• Supervising staff.
• Creating work schedules for employees.
• Responsible for the staff and daily operations of a salon.
• Inventorying salon supplies and reordering as needed.
• Ensuring that the salon environment meets cleanliness and hygiene standards required by law.
• Monitoring staff’s completion of continuing education requirement needed to maintain licensure.
• Resolving client complaints.
• Marketing the salon to attract new customers.
• Performing salon services for customers as needed.
• Opening and/or closing.
• Some Nights and Saturdays.
